Talen Singer-Camp Director and Coach, Co-Owner Philadelphia Jumps Club
Coach Singer is entering his 27th year of pole vault coaching and has trained national level high school athletes, collegiate NCAA national qualifiers, as well professional pole vaulters. Talen is a CSCS certified strength and conditioning coach, as well as a USATFCCA certified Jumps and Multi Event specialist. In just 2 years, Talen took a then-unknown Hayley Horvath from a PR of 9’6 to 2 New Jersey State Championships and State record of 13’5.25 (current PR 13’10). He also coached High School All American Victoria Atkinson (HS PR 13’1.5). Talen is currently coaching 2021 US High School #2 and PA state recorder holder Chloe Timberg, who has a high school PR of PR 14'2.5 - one of the best jumps in U.S. high school history. Talen is also the co- owner of Philadelphia Jumps Club.
Brian Mondschein-Camp Director and Coach, Co-Owner Philadelphia Jumps Club
Coach Mondschein is a retired pole vaulter with a personal best of 18'5 3/4", a 3x NCAA All American, and a 2008 Olympic Trials Participant. In just 5 years, Brian’s coaching resume includes All American, PA State Record Holder and PA’s sole member of the 17ft club, Charley Dever; 2x High School All American, 7x State Champion and Delaware State Record Holder Erin Kelleher
(HS PR 13’4); as well numerous All Americans, State Champions, and Penn Relays Champions! In 2020 Brian coached then 7th grader Veronica Vacca to PR of 12’6, an American age group record, and 3rd highest in world history.
Coach Ray Hoffman is entering his 15th year as the Kutztown University head coach. He has over 30 years of experience as a camp liaison to ensure food, housing, and recreational options are ready to add to the off runway camp experience!
Coach Carl Schnabel started his pole vault journey at Kutztown University 40 years ago as a pole vault camper. He currently resides in Lancaster, Pa where he is the Head track coach for Franklin and Marshall College. Over his coaching career he has coached numerous collegiate All-Americans.
Coach Porambo has over 38 years of pole-vaulting experience. He started his journey as an athlete at Scotch Plains High School in New Jersey, which led him to compete for the D-1 Arizona State University track team for 4 years. He has been coaching for 30 years and is currently the volunteer Pole Vault coach at Rutgers University. Within the first couple years of Coach Porambo’s tenure Rutgers, it is becoming an established national program with freshman Ka’Leila Abrille jumping 13’ 7”.
Coach Russ VerSteeg has coached at the Norwich Free Academy in Norwich, CT (2003-present) and the Skyjumpers Connecticut club (2007-present). Four Norwich Free Academy girls have vaulted over 12-feet, ten have competed in college (including two at Notre Dame, two at the University of Connecticut, the University of Rhode Island, and Cal-Berkeley), and together the NFA boys and girls have won over two dozen state championships. Dozens of his club's vaulters, male and female, have also competed in college. Russ has served on several national pole vault safety committees and coached at numerous camps and clinics (including staff at the Reno Pole Vault Summit).
